  • For Steam: Right-click the game → Properties → Compatibility → Enable Proton
  • For EA App: Use Lutris or Bottles to run EA App with Wine
2

Download DLC Files

Visit our manual downloads page and download the DLCs you want:

Each DLC comes as a .zip file that you'll need to extract.

4

Extract DLC Files

Extract the downloaded .zip files to your game directory:

unzip EP01.zip -d "/path/to/The Sims 4/"

Or use your file manager's extract function and copy the contents to the game folder.

Unzip the file and make sure the script (`setup_linux.sh`) and all necessary files (`config.ini`, `ea_app` folder, `g_*.ini` files) are in the same folder.

Important:                             This Unlocker must be run in the same Linux environment used to launch the game (e.g., inside the Steam Deck Desktop Mode Terminal).

Set Permissions and Launch Script

Use the Terminal to grant permission and run the setup file:

  • Open Terminal and navigate to the folder: cd /path/to/your/files
  •
  • Give the script execution permission: chmod +x setup_linux.sh
  •
  • Run the script to launch the menu: ./setup_linux.sh
  •

7

Install Unlocker and Game Config
